Clinical: I maintain the highest surgical standards of a high quality, patient centred service operating on complex, high risk patients with exemplary outcomes as validated and published (scts.org) nationally with the lowest mortality in Wales for the last 5 years.

Service delivery:

I have successfully managed to reduce cardiac surgical 36 wk breachers to zero & delivered efficiency savings of £240,000 pa improving the Middle Grade services.

Leadership: As the Lead Cardiac Surgeon, I play a key role in the continued evolution of a highly competent team striving to deliver treatment in a timely manner.

I lead the innovative TAVI service.

I was re-elected Chair of the Senior Medical Staff Committee of one of the largest Health Board with excellent engagement on vital issues

I have successfully formed the Welsh Cardiothoracic Society with support from my colleagues which will be instrumental in advising on delivery of heart surgery in Wales.

Winner of the Welsh Asian Women’s Achievement Award -Science, Medicine & Technology 2013. Nominated for the prestigious National British Asian Women’s Achievement Award & National Asian Achievers Award 2014.
