Innovation
Help us create our Innovative Video Library!
You are invited to produce any innovative video of a rare, complex or innovative technique in the whole spectrum of cardiothoracic surgery. This can be done prospectively or retrospectively from your existing recorded material.
There will be 4 categories of adult, congenital cardiac procedures, thoracic and a dedicated category for transplant/device support.
It will be preferable to include narration but this will be optional. High quality video is mandatory with either the main parts or the full operation and there will not be a time restriction of the procedure.
Innovative techniques supported by new technology will be the primary need but any complex and rare procedures or didactic videos will be very welcome, too. Medical history or imaging is not necessary, as we will be focusing on the actual technique and approach.
The aim of this collection material is to create a digital database linked to the SCTS website accessible to all members of the Society and UK based trainees. Prizes will be given to the most viewed videos in each financial year for each category so please restrict to 2 authors maximum. The society will be looking in ways to loan suitable recording equipment in order to facilitate the ones who plan an interesting case in advance and don’t have the appropriate apparatus.
If you are interested in submitting your innovative video, please complete the form below.
Please note, if you are unable to include the URL of the video from YouTube or Vimeo, please send a Dropbox link or a WeTransfer link to emma@scts.org. Please send split files of up to 2GB each with the appropriate tags. The video will be categorized accordingly its content and linked via the SCTS website to our YouTube channel
