Eligible applicants include senior nationally appointed cardiothoracic surgical trainees, senior trust appointed doctors or newly appointed consultants currently working within Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain & Ireland. 

The fellowship is awarded to support a visit to a centre specialising in aortovascular surgery and interventions, which may be in the UK, Ireland or elsewhere in the world. It is designed to enhance the experience of the applicant in preparation for a career as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a specialist interest in aortic surgery.

The fellowship may be offered as a single lump sum to a suitably qualified and motivated trainee wishing to spend time in an acknowledged centre of excellence.

For your application to be considered, it is important that all applicants are in good standing with their employer, are not involved in any ongoing disciplinary proceedings and uphold the values of the Society.
