I am a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon & Minimally Invasive Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Hammersmith Hospital in London. With over two decades of experience in the UK and abroad, I’ve dedicated my career to advancing cardiac surgery, particularly minimally invasive techniques, complex procedures, and healthcare innovation.
A confident and versatile operator with a strong academic foundation, my journey began as a top-performing medical student. In 2014, I was awarded the prestigious Cardiothoracic Surgery Academic Clinical Fellowship (ACF), a highly competitive UK National Training Number (NTN) post that allowed me to combine advanced surgical training with translational research.
In 2019, I earned a PhD in Cardiac Surgery from Imperial College London, focusing on novel surgical strategies and outcomes optimization. This academic grounding informs my clinical practice, enabling me to bring research-driven insights directly into the operating theatre. I completed the UK’s rigorous cardiothoracic training pathway, achieving FRCS (CTh Eng) and CCT in 2020. I then pursued an advanced fellowship in complex aortic surgery, gaining expertise in aortic root procedures, valve repair, and acute aortic dissection. In 2021, I was appointed Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, and in 2022 transitioned to my current posts at Imperial, where I lead minimally invasive surgery and cardiothoracic research. I remain actively involved in mentoring future surgeons and contributing to academic leadership through teaching and research.transitioned to my current post at Imperial, where I lead minimally invasive surgery, cardiothoracic research & Honorary Senior Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute (Imperial College London).
Beyond the operating room, I am passionate about medical innovation, digital health transformation, healthcare leadership, and system redesign. I have led and advised on multiple technology-driven projects to streamline workflows, optimise patient pathways, and expand digital engagement. My leadership bridges clinical excellence with scalable digital infrastructure. I am also committed to professional networking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and medical communications. I use social media and emerging technologies to promote global knowledge exchange, clinical innovation, and community building.
Personal Philosophy: Excellence in surgery is no longer just technical; it’s about leading change, connecting meaningfully, and shaping care systems that serve both humanity and sustainable progress.
