Miss Sara Tenconi is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. She is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng) she is specialised in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery, Mesothelioma surgery and Lung Volume Reduction for Emphysema. She has a Master in Thoracic Robotic Surgery.
She is a core member of the Lung cancer MDT and of the Advanced Emphysema MDT.
She has been a Co-investigator of the MARS 2 Trial, for which she routinely performed Extended Pleurectomy Decortication. She has been the Principal Investigator of Randomised Controlled Trials on the effect or rehabilitation on surgical patients (PuReAIR), as well as the local PI for the Fit4Surgery Trial and the CELEB trial.
She has been a speaker at national and international meetings and has published in peer reviewed journals and text books. She is a member of the European Association for Cardio Thoracic Surgeons, the International Association for the Study on Lung Cancer and the International Mesothelioma Interest Group.
