Announcement - Meet our new President-Elect

Mr Aman Coonar, Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at the Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge

We congratulate Mr Aman Coonar, Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at the Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge who has been elected as our new President Elect.

Mr Aman Singh Coonar BSc(Hons) MBBS MD MRCP(U.K.) FRCS(CTh.) is a full-time consultant surgeon and governor at the Royal Papworth Hospital. He is an affiliated assistant professor of Cambridge University. He is the NHS England National Clinical Lead for thoracic surgery. He is a SCTS trustee and chairs the thoracic surgery committee. He is past president of the Royal Society of Medicine cardiothoracic section and continues on council. He founded the SCTS student engagement programme which has exposed 1000s of young people to the exciting world of heart & lung careers. 
 
He is married to a consultant radiologist, and they have 6 kids and 2 dogs.
