Medical Student Representative to the SCTS Academic and Research Subcommittee

This role will be a 2-year tenure on the SCTS Academic and Research Subcommittee under the supervision and leadership of co-chairs Professor Mahmoud Loubani and Professor Eric Lim. The role will also be part of the Cardiothoracic Interdisciplinary Network (CIRN). The focus of the role will be to provide academic opportunities for medical students interested in cardiothoracic surgery. The position will involve the responsibility of organising national research projects and recruiting participation from medical students across the UK under the recently established Mentorship and Research Scheme for Students (MARSS). The appointed student will be expected to work closely with Academic and Research Subcommittee and CIRN who will support their work. The student will also be expected to provide regular updates to the committee on the work they are conducting.
