SCTS Honorary Secretary Appointment

Following a rigorous interview selection process (including 2 Appointed Trustees and 2 Elected Trustees of the SCTS), the Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Rana Sayeed (Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford) as the new SCTS Honorary Secretary. 

We would like to congratulate him on the appointment, which will commence following the SCTS Annual Business Meeting on 31st March 2022. He brings great experience with him, having practiced as a Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon for over 15 years and more recently as JCIE Cardiothoracic Surgery Exam Board Chair. We would like to thank all the candidates who put themselves forward for selection. 

We would also like to thank our current Honorary Secretary, Narain Moorjani, who will shortly be stepping down from his role, to take up his new post as President-elect. We are extremely grateful for the immense amount of work he has contributed to the SCTS over the past 4 years, especially more recently developing the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy for the Society.
