Nominate “Inspirational NAHP Star of the year 2022”

The Inspirational NAHP Star of the year series has been established by the SCTS NAHP workstream for various Nurses and Allied Health Professionals who are successfully navigating clinical roles . The main aim of this series is to inspire other nurses and allied health professionals by shining a light on clinical NAHP role models through exploring their career journey and highlighting the positive impact of their clinical work.

We would like to invite applications/nominations from all UK and international members. The film series will be shot and edited using Zoom or other online platforms. We are planning to capture at least 6 NAHPs per year.

The NAHP groups consists of cardiothoracic surgical nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, surgical care practitioners, perfusionists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, operating department practitioners, research nurses etc. Please note that SCTS NAHP membership is mandatory, and they need to be a NAHP member of SCTS or willing to become a member. If needed,  become a member here.

Inclusion and exclusion for nomination:

Past and present SCTS NAHP executives are excluded to take part in this series, and they will be filmed as part of “Hall of fame series”. Before nominating your individual candidates, please speak to them to make sure that they are members or willing to become members and they are not past/current SCTS leads. This Inspirational series is to promote non-executive SCTS national NAHPs across Great Britain and Internationally.

These individuals can be nominated by any healthcare professionals as an outstanding individual from their CT unit.

Information for participant to take part in “Inspirational NAHP Star of the year 2022”

Why have I been chosen?

You have been identified as an inspirational NAHP who has transformed clinical practice. We would like you to narrate the clinical career journey that is a part of your life. You can add your personal, professional and clinical career journey to give a full flavour to your story. We would like you to be a role model and to showcase the benefits of a clinical role to patients, the NHS and individual clinical professionals.

What does it involve?

We are planning to shoot this video interview using Zoom or Microsoft teams. If needed, we will come to your workplace, and would ask if you are able to find a pre-determined place suitable for filming (i.e. good lighting, minimal disturbance and sound pollution) to capture all the emotions and create a high-quality film. We may ask to film some images from your work to be embedded into the film to obtain a full picture of you.

What do I need to do to participate?

Please email Isabelle Ferner to confirm you are happy to take part in this film series. A mutually suitable date and time will be agreed with participants. Please do not worry about any preparation as you will be given a full set of instructions and questions to prepare for the filming. Filming will be similar to a personal one to one interview with us.

Do I get paid?

Unfortunately, reimbursement for your time is not possible.

Where it will be disseminated?

Anyone featured in the video must have signed a release form agreeing that the recording will be shared with multiple organisations and via multiple channels through the SCTS Website. Many thanks for reading this participant leaflet.

Please email Isabelle Ferner. You can nominate an outstanding individual NAHP from your work; it doesn’t need to be you.

Yours sincerely

Dr. Bhuvaneswari Krishnamoorthy, SCTS NAHP Chair Miss. Indu Deglurkar, SCTS Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Chair. Mr. Sridhar Rathinam, SCTS communication Chair.
