We hope you have had a good break, a further reminder that nominations for the national trainer awards will be ending soon, please find the details below.

Golden heart- best consultant cardiac surgical trainer 

Golden lungs-best consultant thoracic surgical trainer 

Silver sternum-best cardiac or thoracic trainee trainer 

Nominations will end on 25 January 2022 and the winner will be announced at the annual meeting in Belfast.  

Nominations can be made by any trainee that has worked with the trainer in 2021

Slightly different format of nominations this round, please reply to  trainees@scts.org with TRAINER AWARD 21 in the SUBJECT and include in your email: 

Your full name 

Your current position/level of training

Your current base hospital 

Nominee full name (strictly 1 per award per person)

Nominee base hospital

Nominee up to date email address

500 words for each nomination on what is exceptional about the training you have received. It is important to take some time, use examples and refine this as it will be used directly in the consideration process.

As last time, we will continue to protect your privacy and ensure the nominations are anonymous, the nominee however will need to be informed that they have been nominated.
