Guidance for Revalidation 2012

In collaboration with the surgical specialty associations, the surgical Royal Colleges have published guidance on the supporting information that surgeons will need to provide for appraisal and revalidation. The guidance is mapped on the supporting information requirements set by the GMC in April 2011. It is based on a core template developed by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges for all medical specialties. The surgery guidance on supporting information supplements the GMC guidance and provides additional detail, resources and practical information about the GMC requirements as they relate to surgeons. The College has also developed a two-page checklist as a tool that aims to facilitate surgeons’ revalidation by providing a succinct summary of all requirements for surgical revalidation.
