Sublobar resections for early stage lung cancer: managing oncological issues

Overview

Surgery for lung cancer is constantly evolving with innovative techniques and emerging evidence changing practice.The advent of technology and evidence from randomised controlled trials have changed the standards with “less is more” concept of conserving lung with sub lobar resections. However the key is to preserve the surgical oncological principles in minimally invasive surgery for maximum benefit.

This webinar will explore the challenges with top tips to address the challenges in sublobar resections for lung cancer focusing on oncological issues. Prof Dominic Gossot is a pioneer in Sub lobar resections for lung cancer and shares his experience in this webinar.

Panellists

Our panellists include:

Prof Dominique Gossot - Prof Dominique Gossot studied medicine in Paris, at the Paris VI University. He did his surgical residency in Paris and obtained his diploma in thoracic surgery in 1987. Until 2021, he was Chief of Thoracic surgery at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris Hospital in Paris. He was actively involved in the development of minimally invasive thoracic surgery techniques, both clinically and in education. He co-directs the IRCAD advanced course in minimally invasive thoracic surgery. He has recently hosted the 4th International Conference on Sublobar Resections & Evolving Techniques for Lung Cancer in Paris. Dominique’s primary clinical focus is the development of advanced thoracic endoscopic techniques and technological developments in minimally invasive surgery.
