ST6A & ST6B Cardiothoracic subspecialty course- live operating /  Phase 2: Cardiothoracic Surgery Sub-specialty Course (ST5)

Due to current circumstances, we have decided to run the theory element of this course on Thursday 24th & Friday 25th February.

This course is running for ST6 cohort 2021 - 2022.

This course content includes:

• Principles of advanced mitral valve repair
• Complex pulmonary resection
• Pleural Surgery
• Haemostatic Capabilities in Cardiac Surgery & Visible Patient - ETHICON
• Principles of proximal aortic surgery (aortic root and ascending aorta)
• Principles of heart transplantation, VAD & ECMO
• Surgery of the mediastinum
• Principles of oesophageal surgery
• Principles of surgery for aortic dissection including cerebral & spinal protection
• Principles of minimally invasive lung surgery
• Principles of chest wall surgery
• Surgery for emphysema
• Surgery of the Airway
• Principles of off pump coronary artery bypass surgery - MEDISTIM
