The unit was established in the 1950's. Working in an undergraduate teaching hospital the friendly staff in this unit deliver timely, high quality adult cardiac and thoracic surgical services to around 1.2 million people in the Northwest Midlands.

Visiting hours

ICU has open visiting, as do the other wards for especially sick patients. Otherwise visiting is from 2.00-4.00pm and 6.00-8.00pm.
