The Cardiac Division provides Tertiary Cardiac Services based at Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Hospitals NHS Trust and serves a population of 1.6 million for Lancashire & South Cumbria.

Adult Cardiac Surgery Thoracic Surgery

Rehabilitation and follow up

Follow up is generally 6 weeks to the appropriate surgeon with a discharge back to the GP or cardiologist. Cardiac rehabilitation is provided locally for Blackpool patients, or if from an adjacent area, appropriate contact is made with the local hospital's rehab team to ensure continuity of care - this extends into Lancaster, Cumbria, Preston, Chorley, Blackburn, & Burnley.

The new build complies with all aspects of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Visiting hours

Ward visiting is 8.00-13.00 and 14.30-20.00 with a quiet time between 13.00 and 14.30. Open visiting for intensive care.
