Dumbor Ngaage is a honorary professor at Hull York Medical School, and consultant Cardiac surgeon at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, with an interest in minimally invasive techniques in cardiac surgery, mitral surgery, arterial grafts and AF surgery. He obtained his primary medical degree (MB.BS) from University of Benin, Nigeria, and postgraduate degrees in General Surgery; FWACS (Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons) from Nigeria, and FRCSED, in the UK. He then completed his Cardiothoracic training in Yorkshire, UK and The Mayo Clinic, USA, and obtained FRCS(C-Th), FETCS in cardiovascular surgery, FETCS in Thoracic surgery, and MS in clinical research from The Mayo Graduate School, USA. He has a track record in clinical research, is well published and on the editorial board of cardiothoracic and intensive care journals.

He is the Chief Investigator for FARSTER, which is an NIHR-funded multi-centre RCT of postoperative recovery after cardiac surgery, and FARSTER-care, an NIHR-HTA funded RCT that will redefine postoperative recovery after cardiac surgery.
