Mr Nnamdi Nwaejike has a medical degree from Queen’s University Belfast and an MD from Queen Mary’s, University of London.
Upon completing basic surgical training in Northern Ireland, he was appointed National Cardiothoracic Trainee in the Northwest of England, including rotations in Plymouth, Bristol and Papworth Hospitals.
Mr Nwaejike graduated from the accredited Advanced Cardiothoracic Fellowship Programme at Duke University Hospital, NC, USA.
Upon completing training, he was appointed Consultant Cardiac and Cardiothoracic Transplant surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.

Mr Nnamdi Nwaejike’s clinical interests include all aspects of adult cardiac surgery, cardiothoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
Particular interests include:
Off-pump/beating-heart coronary revascularization (CABG); Total arterial revascularization; Mitral valve repair and Surgery for Atrial Fibrillation
Mr Nwaejike is the Trust Specialty Training Lead in Cardiac surgery at MFT.
Mr Nwaejike sits on the Northwest Cardiothoracic Surgery Training Committee.
