I sub-specialise in the treatment of Structural Heart Disease from both acquired and inherited conditions.  I am experienced in the fields of aorto-vascular surgery, infective endocarditis, mitral surgery and Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardio Myopathy (HOCM). 

I developed niche surgery in my institution and routinely treat cases with radiation induced valvulopathy, prosthetic valve endocarditis including previous TAVI, pericardial disease, mitral annular calcification and cancer.

My technical expertise is in valve sparing root replacement, aortic valve repair, Ross procedure, homograft root replacement, Commando procedure, septal myectomy, root enlargement techniques, mitral repair and redo surgery for any of the above.

I am also experienced in minimally invasive procedures for valves and beating heart surgery for CABG.

In 2016 my interest expanded towards the surgical treatment for Hypertrophic Obstructive CardioMyopathy (HOCM).  I consolidated my practice by travelling to the USA for a clinical experience in a large volume centre and a research experience at Yale.

Between 2009 and 2022 the scope of my job included Transplantation and Mechanical Support Therapies. In those years I dedicated to clinical and experimental research in both areas of this field.
