Remembering Anthony
I am right now stunned and deeply saddened by the sudden passing of our friend and colleague, Mr Anthony Chambers, Consultant Thoracic Surgeon in Edinburgh.
Anthony was not only a very fine surgeon but also a warm and generous soul. He cared deeply for his patients and team, and his compassion and gentle humour brought comfort. Many of us will remember the way he listened, the way he encouraged, and the way he made time for people.
His skill and dedication have left a lasting mark. For those who had the privilege to know or work with him, his warmth and humanity will also be remembered.
Anthony’s father, David is a distinguished scientist and friend and is well known to many of us in SCTS.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with him, and with all of Anthony’s family, friends, and colleagues at this profoundly sad time.
