Exceptional Additional Fellowships 2019

SCTS-Ionescu Nursing & Allied Health Professional Fellowships: 3 awards, £5,000 each
The Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain & Ireland (SCTS) is pleased to invite applications for the SCTS-Ionescu Nursing & Allied Health Professional Fellowships 2019.
Eligible applicants include Cardiothoracic Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Surgical Care Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists and Perfusionists, currently working within Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain & Ireland and professionally registered with the NMC or HCPC.
The fellowship is awarded to support a visit to a cardiothoracic surgery centre (in GB & Ireland or abroad) or another educational opportunity. It is designed to enhance the experience of the applicant to further their career in cardiothoracic surgery.
The fellowship can be utilised for further development of clinical skills, management, leadership skills or service improvement. The applicant should be able to describe how their fellowship will enhance the specialty of cardiothoracic surgery and the wider NHS.
Applicants must be an associate member of the SCTS to be eligible for these fellowships.
Your completed application should include:
- Completed application form
- Curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages)
- Letter from the visiting centre & corresponding allied health professional confirming acceptance and details of the experience to be
- Letter of support from their Line
Successful applicants will be expected to submit a report to be published in the SCTS Bulletin and produce a short video describing their fellowship to be shown at the 2020 SCTS Annual Meeting. The video will also be placed in the public domain in the SCTS website. The winner will also be expected to do a presentation describing their fellowship at the 2020 SCTS Annual Meeting.
The fellowships must be started within 12 months of the award.
