August 2025

Dear Supporter,

As President of SCTS, I am proud to lead a community dedicated to excellent patient care and inspiring the next generation of surgical and healthcare professionals. Our members – from surgeons and trainees to nurses, students, and allied health colleagues – are united by a commitment to excellence.

On Sunday 14 September 2025, TEAM SCTS will take on our first London to Brighton Cycle Ride. This is not just a sporting challenge; it is a public statement of our values – aiming high, teamwork, resilience, and an unshakable drive to deliver better patient outcomes.

Every mile we ride will help fund initiatives that improve and push the boundaries of care, support the people who deliver it, and ensure we continue to innovate for the future.

I invite you to stand with TEAM SCTS. Your support – whether through donation, support or advocacy– will help turn our vision into action. Together, we can ride further, achieve more, and make a lasting difference.

Thank you for your commitment to this journey.

A message from the president

I am the current president of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery. We aim to improve patient care and support our members who range from surgeons to students to allied health care professionals. This is a personal invitation to ask for your support and/or participation as a rider in the London-Brighton bike ride on 14.9.2025.

Our team will set out hopefully at a common time more or less of 10 am. We would be grateful for your support in the form of sponsorship or if you’d like to ride with us. A wide range of riders do this from the casual to competitive so don’t be put off as you can train up in no time!

Yours sincerely
