The evening is built around the attributes that sit alongside operative technique and clinical knowledge: decision-making under pressure, sustained concentration across long and complex cases, judgement about when to operate, and the deliberate acquisition of skill. It follows our earlier evenings on surgical safety, global surgery and subspecialty practice, and takes up questions that students and early-career colleagues raise with us regularly.
Three speakers will address them from different vantage points, each for approximately twenty minutes, followed by a live question and answer session. Questions can be submitted at registration as well as on the night.
The evening is free, online, and open internationally, to colleagues, societies and trainees at any stage.
