Heart Research UK is holding a Masterclass in Surgery for Acute Aortic Dissection on Friday 5th May 2023, at Keele University. Led by Miss Deborah Harrington, Consultant Aortic Surgeon at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the course is aimed at recently-appointed consultant cardiac surgeons or surgeons wishing to progress to perform aortic surgery, and senior trainees in cardiac surgery. This course will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience of aortic dissection scenarios including total aortic arch replacement, supervised by an expert faculty.
Also, Heart Research UK is hosting a Masterclass in Endoscopic Heart Valve Surgery on Wednesday 24th May 2023, at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. It is designed for individuals interested in becoming familiar with an endoscopic approach to heart valve surgery. Delegates will be expected to understand the indications and tips, tricks and pitfalls of this approach will be covered. A cadaver lab where delegates will be exposed to both 2D and 3D endoscopic valve surgery with very good interaction with faculty. We are confident that delegates will be comfortable with the theory and understand some of the practicalities of endoscopic heart valve surgery by attending this course.
