This course is aimed at Nationally Appointed Surgical Trainees at ST7 and Trust Appointed Doctors in the UK due to be taking part 2 of the FRCS (C-Th) Exam this October 2021

FACULTYS
Mr Lawre
nce Okiror is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. He trained in cardiothoracic surgery in London (Royal Brompton and Guy’s Hospitals) and the West Midlands.
He offers a comprehensive general thoracic surgery service. His areas of expertise include minimally-invasive surgery (robotic and VATS), radical surgery for mesothelioma and resection of advanced thoracic malignancies. He leads the central airways service at GSTT & works closely with colleagues to manage some of the most complex airway problems.
He is service lead for lung volume reduction & offers both surgery and endobronchial therapies for advanced emphysema.
He has a strong interest in education and training and is involved in teaching and supervising work experience students, medical students at King’s College London cardiothoracic surgical and respiratory trainees. He is a regular faculty member of various national courses in cardiothoracic surgery and respiratory medicine
He is the recipient of a number of national awards for his original research work
He has published >30 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals in thoracic surgery and authored a number of book chapters in reference textbooks in thoracic surgery.
Dr Nathan
Burnside. Nathan underwent the majority of his training between Belfast and London and is now settled in Nottingham University Hospitals. He has a special interests in Medical Education and Medical Law. He has a varied surgical practice composed of mainly lung cancer, lung volume reduction, and sarcoma chest wall resections.

Delegate Terms and Conditions
This course is for National Trainee Numbered (NTN) trainees at ST7 level and Trust Appointed Doctors who are members of the SCTS.
Trust Appointed Doctors, please use the application form to apply to attend by Friday 23rd July.
Please note, a refundable deposit of £200 will be required. This will be returned upon completion of the course feedback form and you will receive your certificate.
