INSINC Surgeon of the Month for August is Mr Joseph Zacharias, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, specialising in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, in particular, endoscopic vein harvesting and periareolar access. This month, we discuss his biggest professional achievements, the role of sex on surgical incision and survival, and, the challenges in providing minimal access services. For July, we welcome Mr Peter Brennan, keynote speaker from the Belfast Annual Meeting and Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Portsmouth, with a PhD in human factors.
