Mr. Modi was appointed as a consultant cardiac surgeon at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton before returning to Southampton in 2022.

Mr. Modi has a wealth of experience and expertise in advanced cardiac procedures. He performs major aortic surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic and mitral valve surgery, and concomitant arrhythmia ablative operations. He also has a special interest in minimally invasive aortic valve surgery. He has excellent patient feedback and outcomes.

Mr. Modi has received nominations for the prestigious Silver Scalpel and NHS Shine Awards.

His work has also been recognised with prizes at the King’s Fund casebook launch event and the ISMICS winter workshop

He has numerous publications in books and international peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Training Attended

Mr. Modi was trained in cardiac surgery at the renowned Wessex cardiothoracic centre.

He was awarded the Marian and Christina Ionescu Consultant Travelling Fellowship and has travelled to Belgium and Canada to acquire special complex aortic surgery and valve repair skills.

He regularly attends national and international courses and conferences for continuing medical education. He engages with the quality assurance program and regularly reflects on his work.
