DESCRIPTION:About the event\n\nJoin us for Global Surgical Frontiers (GSF) 2025 on Friday 10 October in London and online. The Royal College of Surgeons of England has awarded this conference up to 5.5 CPD points.\n\nThis one-day conference marks a significant milestone in the equity of access to surgery worldwide. We’ll reflect on the decade since the adoption of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Resolution WHA68.15, and the publication of the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery (LCoGS) report; defining moments that have laid the foundation for improving the access to safe surgical and anaesthesia care worldwide.\n\nWith only five years left to achieve the Global Surgery 2030 Targets, GSF 2025 offers a critical opportunity to evaluate progress, share learning and shape the path ahead. We’ll explore the evolving role of integrated surgical, emergency and critical care in strengthening health systems, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).\n\nSpeaker highlights include:\n\nDr Meskerem Aleka Kebede, Research Fellow, Global Surgery Policy Unit, London School of Economics and Political Science/RCS England\n\nDr Vanessa Naidoo, Technical Officer, World Health Organisation\n\nDr Justina Seyi-Olajide, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon, Lagos University Teaching Hospital\n\nMr Tim Mitchell, President, RCS England\n\nMore speakers to be announced soon.\n\nUnable to attend in person? We are pleased to announce that a virtual attendance option will be available. Access talks, share your views and ask questions from anywhere in the world.\n\nYou can also access recorded content on-demand following the event and gain CPD points, included with both in-person and online tickets.\n\nRCS England members get over 50% off ticket prices.\n\nWhy attend?\n\nMark ten years of progress in global surgery and anaesthesia.\n\nDrive the next decade of action toward achieving Global Surgery 2030 targets.\n\nHear from leading experts, including speakers from WHO, LSE and major teaching hospitals.\n\nConnect across disciplines with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, researchers, policymakers and advocates.\n\nShowcase your work through our Global and Humanitarian Surgery Poster Competition.\n\nWho should attend?\n\nSurgeons at all career grades, anaesthetists, nurses, global health advocates, researchers, policymakers and anyone committed to advancing surgical care worldwide.\n\nNB - Access codes are available for non-surgical attendees and those working in low- and middle-income. If you have not been sent an access code please email rcsevents@rcseng.ac.uk stating which group you belong to and we will send you the relevant code.\n\nPoster competition\n\nEnter our Humanitarian Surgery Poster Competition for a chance to present your ideas, research or innovations in global or humanitarian surgery to an international audience.\n\nWhether you're a trainee or clinician, this is an opportunity to grow your portfolio, contribute to global health conversations and gain recognition from leading voices in the field.
