DESCRIPTION:New addition to the SCTS Education Trust Appointed Doctors portfolio of courses! \n\n\n\nProgramme\n\nThis 2-day course is supported by Ethicon and will be run at their new state of the art facility: Pinewood Campus.\n\nAccommodations and meals included with course registration. \n\nThe course will review the adult cardiothoracic curriculum. It is aimed at Trust Appointed Doctors with at least one year of experience on a registrar-level cardiothoracic surgery rota (equivalent to NTN ST4 level) and is aligned with the current curriculum. The format will include small-group teaching, simulation and wet lab sessions.\n\nClinical scenarios will include:\n\nmanagement of primary lung cancerpulmonary metastasectomymesotheliomachest wall tumourspectus managementlung volume reduction techniquescoronary artery disease managementvalvular heart diseasemanagement of aortovascular diseaseTechniques of segmentectomy, lobectomy sleeve resection, and heart valve techniques will be undertaken. Thoracic and Cardiac Critical Conditions will be reviewed. Cardiothoracic trauma and its management will also be discussed.\n\n \n\n
