We are looking for an inspirational and highly motivated experienced clinical leader to join our Critical Care team as Matron. This opportunity comes at a time when we are planning for relocation to our new state of the art hospital in September 2018 to the biomedical campus in Cambridge where we will be co located with Cambridge University Hospitals, academic and research institutions.

This is an exciting and challanging opportunity for an experienced nurse who has extensive clinical experience including some background in critical care nursing. The individual will provide highly visible leadership, inspiration and direction to the critical care workforce. They will ensure that the highest standards of care, patient safety, and patient experience is at the heart of everything they do.

Under the leadership of the Director of Nursing, the individual will work closely with the Head of Nursing to take forward the nursing strategy, monitoring and maintaining excellence in clinical and professional standards.

The individual will work as part of the Trust Matron team ensuring a 7 day Matron service is delivered.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Extensive clinical experience with some critical care experience
  • Effective and sustainable leadership skills
  • Effective and collaborative approach to communication
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Evidence how they have positively influenced nursing and patient care
